The practice were recently made aware that some details about allergies to medicines in a large number of patients records were incorrectly recorded when the practice migrated from one clinical system to another in August 2020. The error showed a patient to be allergic to a drug when they had no such allergy. This error was corrected in 2022. A full clinical impact assessment undertaken by the practice doctors and an external GP advisor from the CCG. They concluded no harm was likely to have been caused.
The GPs were confident that if a patient had required such medication, they would have discussed this with the patients and identified the error.
A full investigation did take place and measures have been put in place to prevent similar issues happening again.
